(March
2009) Concerns over safety of cervical cancer vaccine after 1,300 girls
experience adverse side-effects
More
than 1,300 schoolgirls have experienced adverse reactions to the
controversial cervical cancer jab.
Doctors
have reported that girls aged just 12 and 13 have suffered paralysis,
convulsions and sight problems after being given the vaccine.
Dozens
were described as having pain 'in extremity' while others suffered from
nausea, muscle weakness, fever, dizziness and numbness.

(June
2009) Fears over reactions to cervical cancer jab
MORE
than 150 girls in Scotland have suffered adverse reactions after
receiving the cervical cancer vaccine introduced last autumn, The
Scotsman can reveal.
Campaigners
are calling for the vaccination programme to be suspended, claiming
there are unanswered questions about the long-term effectiveness and
safety of Cervarix. They are concerned that official information refers
to mild side-effects, when some girls have reported serious reactions
to the jab.

(July 2009) Stricken Marine spurs senator’s
amendment
Marine Lance Cpl. Josef Lopez of Springfield has spent the last three
years recovering from a smallpox vaccination that left him paralyzed
and nearly took his life.
Lopez, now 23, was given the vaccination before his 2006 deployment to
Iraq. But a law that awards wounded Iraq veterans up to $100,000 to
defray costs associated with major injuries, left him out.

August 2009
Dr. Diane Harper says young girls and their parents should receive more
complete warnings before receiving the vaccine to prevent cervical
cancer. Dr. Harper helped design and carry out the Phase II and Phase
III safety and effectiveness studies to get Gardasil approved, and
authored many of the published, scholarly papers about it. She has been
a paid speaker and consultant to Merck. It’s highly unusual for a
researcher to publicly criticize a medicine or vaccine she helped get
approved.
Dr. Harper joins a number of consumer watchdogs, vaccine safety
advocates, and parents who question the vaccine’s risk-versus-benefit
profile. She says data available for Gardasil shows that it lasts five
years; there is no data showing that it remains effective beyond five
years.

September 2009 Natalie Morton collapses
after cervical cancer jab
Natalie Morton died in a hospital
soon after she received a cervical cancer or HPV vaccine and fell ill at her
school in Coventtry, UK. Britain's
National Health Service began offering the Cervarix vaccine 18 months
ago. About 0.15 percent of recipients reacted badly to the vaccine but
most of these were mild, cbc reports.

Vac's comments:
However, we were quickly, very quickly compared to most events, told it
was down to an extremely rare tumor that has entered her heart and lung
and restricted the blood flow.
Despite her collapse after 1 hour and 15 minutes having had the jab and
2 hours and 15 minutes being pronounced dead in hospital.
Despite the vaccines being known in some
cases to cause blood clots and despite two girls who knew of her
saying the following:
i totally agree!
i am a 14 year old girl and i knew natalie.
my friends who didnt know her are thinking of going forward with the
jab because she had a tumor so thats why she died.
but its obviously something to do with the vaccine because its not
exactly like anyone thought she was severly ill.
the jab mustve triggered something.
and now everyone is telling the news that their kids have suffered from
brain tumors and mental illnesses.
i think the vaccine is rather stupid because smear tests are available
when you are 25 so to be honest i would rather die then than now.
i think everyone is being totally ignorant by saying 'ooo shes
obviously died just because she had a tumor.'
a woman came to my school to promote the jab and a girl in my form
asked 'on the hpv website it says that the jab can cause blood clotting
and it can stop your heart completely.'
the woman just laughed and said, 'obviously thats never going to happen
and if it does the chances are VERY low.'
and then natalie died the week after.
the ignorance of people is soooo annoying. (Name removed for obvious

I would first of all like to thank you for going into all this research
into the cervical cancer vaccine. It's nice to hear someone actually
cares enough to go into all this trouble to find out the truth and a
huge thank you for that!
As you probably know already, I go to Blue Coats School and witnessed
what happened to Natalie. It is a terrible shame that it had to happen
to such a kind girl such as her. It never should have happened and i
personally think that the vaccine must have been a trigger of the tumor
or something. 14 year olds don't just drop dead!
But anyways, I know that most of the girls from our school will not be
continuing with the vaccinations, including myself. Many of us have had
adverse reactions to the vaccine and i seriously believe that the
vaccine needs to be looked into.
Thank you for the work you have been doing, it's desperately needed
considering the NHS is dismissing our views.

October 2009 A One In a Million Shot
Desiree Jennings
thought it would be a good idea to get the seasonal flu shot. Her job
offered incentives for it, and she didn't want to get sick.
Ten
days after she got the shot at a Reston Safeway, she did get
sick.
"I
got flu-like symptoms -- nausea, vomiting, body aches, fever -- then
was lethargic for a week and started blacking out," said Jennings, an
AOL employee and Washington Redskins ambassador hoping to one day
be a cheerleader for the team, the Loudoun Times-Mirror
reported.
Doctors
couldn't figure out why her ability to speak and walk were so adversely
affected. She saw neurologists, physical therapists and psychologists.
"I
was hoping for Lyme, praying for lupus, even Graves' disease," she
said. "Unfortunately they were all ruled out."
Finally,
doctors at Johns Hopkins figured it out, diagnosing dystonia, a rare
neurological condition with no cure brought on by infections, brain
trauma or, as is believed in her case, reaction to medication. It
causes body jerks and abnormal or repetitive movements.
"A
simple conversation with two people -- you and I could converse on the
couch, and if the phone were to ring it would send her into a violent
convulsion," said her husband, Brendan Jennings.

Parents of
brain-damaged teenager blame cervical cancer jab
A teenage
girl
has been left brain-damaged after falling ill within days of being
given Cervarix, the controversial cervical cancer vaccine.
Stacey Jones,
17, suffered her first epileptic seizure days after having the Cervarix
injection, which is being offered to all schoolgirls under a Government
programme.
In the weeks
which followed, she had dozens more fits, which caused
such severe brain injury that she has been admitted to a rehabilitation
unit, which is helping her to relearn basic tasks like making a
sandwich.
The parents
of the teenager, from Bilston in the West Midlands, are convinced that
the vaccination, in March, triggered swelling in the brain, which has
been diagnosed as the cause of her neurological problems.
Julie and
Kerry Jones say that as a result, their "happy-go-lucky "
girl became paranoid and violent, leaving her family in despair.
Safety
watchdogs and drug manufacturers insist there is no evidence to
suggest the vaccine carries long term side-effects – meaning that in
cases such as Stacey's, the timing of the onset of illness after a jab
would be mere coincidence.
This week,
the post-mortem on Natalie Morton, a 14-year-old Coventry
schoolgirl who died hours after having the jab, found that she actually
died from a malignant tumour which had been growing, undetected, in her
chest.
But Stacey's
parents insist that more must be done to investigate
whether their daughter's symptoms could have been triggered by the
vaccination programme.
When the
teenager became increasingly emotional in the weeks following
her first two jabs, in November and January, her parents thought their
easy-going daughter was finally succumbing to adolescent moodswings.
But within four days of her third and final injection in March of this
year, Stacey suffered an epileptic seizure, followed by 17 more in the
following week.
The fits
continued for months, while the teenager became increasingly
disturbed and psychotic, hearing voices and making murderous threats.
Doctors said
the epilepsy was caused by swelling of the brain, but the
family has been given no explanation as to how the damage occurred.
Stacey was admitted to an NHS rehabilitation unit for
brain injury, where she is relearning simple tasks. Seizures are
minimised by five types of medication, but the teenager's memory has
been badly damaged.

(October
2009) One death is too many
Last
week we heard the tragic death of yet another school girl, Ashanti
Wasana (13) of Minuwangete Maha Vidyalaya, Wariyapola following the
Rubella vaccination. It was seven months ago on March 19 that the first
death following Rubella vaccination was reported from Matara. The
victim then was Peshala Hansini (12), a student of St. Thomas’ Girls
College, Matara.
In
both cases the immediate reaction of the authorities was the same. They
blurted out drab statistics to show that everything was normal. It is
said that the casualty rate following Rubella vaccination is one in a
million or so. (So, why worry?) True. Yet is that the way to react?
Taking
their own statistics, we find the casualty rate in Sri Lanka much
higher. It is up to the authorities to generalise. From the point of
view of a lay observer there must be something wrong somewhere. Either
the vaccine was sub-standard or it was not stored properly leading to
contamination. Or else, there was something wrong in its administration
- either necessary precautions including a proper diagnose of the
health condition of the child was not made or some other medical
negligence had taken place. The exact reason could be known after a
full investigation.
Among the excuses
blurted out by the Spokesman is the fact that it was not mandatory to
indicate the date of manufacture or date of expiry in the vaccines or
in the packaging. He even cited examples from foreign countries.
However, how credible his assertions were is a debatable question.

(October 2009) Case
Report Describes Fatal Motor Neuron Disease Following HPV Vaccination:
Presented at ANA
A case report
suggests there may be a link
between the vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV) and a rapidly
progressive, fatal, motor neuron disease, researchers reported here on
October 13 at the American Neurological Association (ANA) 134th Annual
Meeting.
At her poster
presentation, Catherine
Lomen-Hoerth, MD, PhD, Director, ALS Center, University of California,
San Francisco, Medical Center, said that a 14-year-old girl developed
weakness in her left leg 2 months after her third and final Gardasil
dose. The condition progressed rapidly: her muscle weakness
relentlessly progressed to all her extremities and her muscles
atrophied, she said. Despite treatment with aggressive
immunosuppression, the girl died of respiratory failure 21 months after
onset of symptoms.
Dr. Lomen-Hoerth said
the features suggest
a clinical diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), but the
disease progressed more quickly than typical for young ALS patients,
she said.
Postmortem
examinations revealed
widespread infiltration of T lymphocytes and macrophages in the grey
and white matter at all levels of the spinal cord, Dr. Lomen-Hoerth
continued. Additionally, there was widespread demyelination and severe
loss of motor neurons.
"We were surprised
that the spinal cord was so inflammatory. That is very different from
what we normally see in ALS," she said.
"These pathological
features support the
temporal association of the clinical presentation and vaccination and
provide supporting evidence that immune-mediated reactions in the
nervous system are potential risks after Gardasil vaccination," she
said.
